I was on vacation and had just finished a practice session. The image of my soprano saxophone in the chair said something to me. I did not get it clearly then, but I had to capture the image.
It hit me much later as I began the process of drawing out the image within the scene. I was seeing a throne and scepter, or even a gavel and bench. I take my music work seriously. When I perform, I am a leader serving my audience, my consistency, so I must strive to serve the best music possible. I do not rule. I lead. I define. I provide. I serve. The stage, or the studio or wherever I perform is my throne. My instruments, in this case my soprano sax, is my scepter.
