Leaving for work after our first major snowstorm of 2026, determined to not get sidetracked taking snow pictures, I got sidetracked taking snow pictures. However, I was focused on a few very specific targets and noticed phenomena. This was not one of them.
I was focused on a larger scene, "Three" is taken from a corner of a larger scene. I discovered this scene during zoom analysis of the entire image. As I studied this small segment, I saw the three tree sparrows as a squad, a unit, a team, "Three", facing eastward.
Most derivative edits are more time-consuming, sometimes spread over days. This one was an overnight after discovering it and two hours. Sometimes, less is more. After discovering this scene, I made the decision to not overdo it, to let it rest where it is. I applied some effects to further expose the features of the sparrows, then deleted them.
