Church Street in Montclair is a short street parallel to Bloomfield Avenue. There are more boutiques, shops and eateries per square mile on this street than on some longer drives. It is more a pedestrian than driving street. It is obscure but accessible, and there are some eateries here that for their size and location bring a lot of foot traffic. Our favorite is Raymond's, which has forever ruined french toast everywhere else. Few to whom we have introduced this restaurant have ever disagreed.
After learning our wait would be (a very worthwhile) fifteen minutes I approached this bench, which seemed to say, "I am here for you."
